Registered Massage Therapistr
I am a Registered Massage Therapist, a 2019 graduate of Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy and an active member of the CMTO. My work is highly focused on restoring physical function and health for clients by incorporating assessments, education, and active client involvement with my treatments. My treatments consist of primarily using techniques such as Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue work, Active & Passive Movement, Fascia and Stretching. My interests in pregnancy, labour and pediatrics also led me to train further in pregnancy massage and practice dually as an RMT/doula. I have completed numerous placements in athletics, community events and hospitals which helped me seek further opportunities within the scope of massage therapy. Since achieving my diploma, I have been practicing as an RMT in the Cambridge and Kitchener-Waterloo area for the past year and have treated clients of all ages and backgrounds.
As a child, I underwent numerous surgeries, which sparked my curiosity in becoming a hands-on healthcare professional. This led me to start my path in nursing school, where I learned the endless and complex ways the human body works. My passion for healing and restoring health grew as I continued to learn about the importance of how nutrition, education, medicines, and home care all integrate with each other for the human body to function adequately.
It was not until I was in a major accident followed by a separate ACL tear shortly after that I realized the value of the process of healing and mental well-being. My journey of healing, exercise and mindfulness sparked another interest to explore the limitless potential of the body to return to a state of holistic balance. Through rigorous physiotherapy, massage therapy and chiropractic care, I was amazed at how fast I was able to recover. My motivation to overcome this obstacle and provide hands-on care led me to pursue my education and diploma in Massage Therapy.
My training and experience in massage therapy allows me to incorporate breathing, relaxation techniques, physical fitness, and self-care in my treatments. Having explored various aspects of massage therapy (infant massage, sports massage, pre & post natal massage, and remedial exercises) enables me to meet diverse clients with an open approach with an aim to accomplish their goals together. My curious nature continues to draw me to strive for further knowledge and understanding of the body in the following areas of interest: lymphatic drainage, fascial stretch therapy, reiki and much more. I believe in the process of progressive learning, where we can learn from each other and grow to become a better version of ourselves.
With a focus on holistic well-being and activity-encouraging treatment, I look forward to working with you to restore your function, optimize your rest and become more efficient in your activities!
